My wife has a friend (he’s white) that consistently used the word around his wife (she’s Black) and her friends. His rationale was that his brother-in-law and the rest of his in-laws gave him a pass and he rapped, so it was okay. I prayed for the day that he’d say it in my presence but it never came. I’ve heard that he’s changed his tune, which I assume is attributed to personal growth and understanding the impact of the word now that he’s the father of a Black child.
